We love to share a treat with our guests! Here is a recipe you can enjoy at home.
Baked Chocolate Donuts
Ingredients:
- 2 cups flour
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/4 cups milk
- 1 large egg
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract or 1 teaspoon orange extract
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Grease donut pans or cupcake pans.
- Mix flour, sugar, cocoa powder and salt in a large bowl.
- Melt butter in a smaller bowl. Wisk in milk, egg and extract.
- Slowly add the wet mixture into the flour mixture in the large bowl.
- Spoon the batter into pans, filling each ring about 3/4 full.
- Bake about 10 minutes, or until done.
- Cool donuts.
Glaze, optional:
- 6 cups confectioners' sugar
- 4 tablespoons hot water (adjust for desired consistency)
- 2 tablespoons of vanilla extract
Combine ingredients, mixing water in slowly to create a thick liquid. Poor over cooled donuts.
